About Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a talking therapy, where a client is given a safe space to explore their feelings and experiences within a non-judgemental environment. The therapist's training enables them to help the client look deeper into their processes and the interpersonal relationships in their lives by examining current and past events, how they've been affected by them and examining the relationship within the room.

It is a process used to help anyone gain self-awareness and enable a deeper understanding of thier own actions and experience. This can be transformative for people experiencing difficulties in life and relationships and also for people who would like to explore their experience of the world and themself in a safe environment.

My approach is person-centered and I believe that each individual is the expert on themselves. Many people look towards therapy for help in understanding their emotions and behaviours and I work with clients to discover the origins to their feelings and help make sense of their experiences.

Many people can find themselves feeling stuck, anxious, depressed or unsure of themselves and their relationships and can benefit significantly from a non-judgmental, confidential and safe environment in which they can be met with compassion and acceptance. In this space a person can explore their relationship with themselves and with others and move to a place that feels more whole and secure.

Sessions are weekly, held at the same time and in the same room every week. During the initial session, I will talk through the frame - confidentiality, timings, process and endings, and  then there is space for you to share what has brought you to therapy whilst also exploring your experience in the 'here and now' within the room.
