Psychotherapy
Long or short term talking therapies giving you space to attend to your emotional wellbeing.
Psychotherapy provides a secure environment to delve into emotions and experiences without fear of judgment.
In the space held by the therapist, clients are guided to explore their inner workings, relationships, current and past events, and their lasting impacts. The therapeutic process is instrumental in fostering self-awareness and a profound comprehension of personal actions and encounters. It proves to be transformative for individuals navigating life's challenges, relationship issues, or seeking to introspect in a supportive setting.
I believe its important to meet each person where they are in the moment, and instead of having a fixed idea of what needs to change, explore what they are actually experiencing. I hold a compassionate curiousity that invites clients to feel safe in our relationship. We're all made up of many different parts of ourselves, often finding these different wants and needs conflicting with each other. I provide a space where we can separate these out, slowly learning to recognise the origins and needs of each aspect, and see how they all contribute to a persons experience.
I've found that meeting clients' experiences with a non-judgemental, compassionate and authentic interest, allows those parts that carry the pain of past trauma or neglect to heal and integrate with the whole person, leading to a new capacity for relationships with themself and others.
Sessions are conducted on a weekly basis in a consistent setting, maintaining the same time and location. The initial session sets the groundwork by outlining essential aspects such as confidentiality, session duration, processes, and closure. Subsequently, you are encouraged to share your motivations for seeking therapy while engaging in a real-time exploration of your thoughts and emotions within the therapeutic environment.

I'm an experienced and fully qualified psychotherapist working in person in Yeovil, and online. I offer weekly sessions, working with adults who are seeking a warm, holding space where they can be met with compassion and feel safe to explore what issues they might be experiencing.
Trained in Humanistic-Integrative Psychotherapy, I draw from a wide range of theories and research to offer different lens' through which we might understand why people feel the way they do, while giving space for simply experiencing those feelings.
I'm interested in what you bring, and also curious about what might not be able to be spoken about, recognising the importance of your autonomy and safety in choosing what you share.
I trained at Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC), and have a Master's Degree and Professional Diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy, and have held a private practise for nine years, working with clients in Bath, Yeovil and online. I have previously spent time working as a Bereavement Counsellor for St Margarets Hospice in Yeovil.
My recent research focuses on how the therapeutic relationship heals the fragmentation of the self that can occur with the disruption of childhood attachment. I'm also interested in how early emotional experience can result in adult physiological illness, and the multiplicity within the self; the ways in which we adapt for protection, and how reaching for external safety can lead to internal conflict. I've attended multiple trainings focusing on the neurological and emotional processing differences in neurodivergent and neurotypical experiencing.
I regularly attend additional CPD training including courses on Addiction, Dissociation, Power and Gender, Neurodivergence, Sensorimotor and Trauma Therapy. Within my BCPC training I completed the additional module on Body Process, an exploration of how the body is experienced, and experiences, as a whole being.
